Once-In-A-While Post

Hah, a new post after few weeks. Not that I'm starting to be lazy to blog, but it's because I write when certain conditions are met. I don't write if I don't have any issue to update, when no Internet connection is available, in the office or if someone is present while I'm writing my blog (sori yang :P).

Okay, things to update. From past few months, my RND friends and I are actively involved in extreme sport called 'Paintball'. It's a face-paced action sport that resembles war-games, where teams (or individuals, depending on how you play it) compete to eliminate others and secure the game objective. For information on how the game is played, head over to the link given above and read.

I found that through paintball, I am able to see the hidden trait within a person. Since my friends and I usually play 'Capture-the-Flag' mode, teamwork and communications are really important and crucial in ensuring the winning of the game. I am actually able to see which person listens to the appointed leader, which person totally disregards orders given by leaders or teammates, which person who will blame others when something goes wrong and so on. Maybe for other people, they only see me happily shooting other people and having fun with them together while in fact, I use this opportunity to judge people. It is without a doubt that I am in constant mode of judging other people based on things that they don't realize they are doing it. While some may criticize me for judging other people based on the exterior and not through really know the people, I must say this skillset had saved me quite a few times in getting close with people. Why would you waste your time getting close to someone when in the end, you're going to regret your decision? Through paintball also, I am able to characterize people based on what they are comfortable with. They are some who are natural-born leader, natural-born follower (*chuckle*), some who are easy to get along with and some who will backstab you when you least expect it. You should try it if you haven't, especially if you are a leader in your organization/department. I won't say it is the best team-building effort, but it makes it easy for you to identify who is the team-builder and who will be the team-rocker.

Which type of person am I? Have a paintball session with me and hopefully you'll know..

Hurm..

Just back from 2 days holiday at Pangkor and here I am, in the office fixing problem God-knows-what-was-wrong. Feels like I was wrong taking IT 7 years ago, should have stick to engineering instead. But then yeah, maybe it's God's way to make me learn things first before giving me my liberty. Problem fixed, time to go home. Wonder why this company never thought about giving its employee VPN access, so that I don't need to haul my ass to the office middle of the night.

Dear God, please answer my prayer. I've been praying extra hard last few days, please make my wish come true and I can forget all these bulls.

Oh anyway, I'm posting my vacation pics at Facebook. Do add me if you haven't. You should have known my e-mail address if you read this blog I guess..

R&D Paintball - Session 3

Just finish the R&D 3rd paintball session yesterday. It was by far the best game ever for our team. But firstly, big thanks to Pejai and his team of game marshalls who made sure the game was successful. I really owe this guy big time, as he was really patient with my teammates all their requests. Thanks buddy!

The game started at 10am. As usual, we were late LOL. We actually promised Pejai that we would start the game at 9am. So as not to waste more time and all of us had actually played before, the marshall in charge didn't actually need to brief us in detail regarding the game rule and so on.We headed straight into the game zone and started playing.

I can say our team's performance and skills have improved a bit as compared to the first time we played 2 months back. Teamwork has improved significantly, so I think after this we just need to improve on the technicalities and communications between teammates. Overall, it was a great game and we were all happy with it.

This is our last session before fasting month as we will all be a bit busy next month with the start of Premier League season and whatnot. Anyway, thanks guys for the great game. We'll see each other in the game zone again after Aidilfitri.

Pissed!!

I am pissed. Especially at a stupid Perodua Viva driver who caused a 3-car accident last Friday which involved my car too. Luckily I was at the most front, so only my rear bumper and boot door were damaged. That stupid fella got earful words from me right after he banged the 2nd car and subsequently the 2nd car banged my car. Goddamit, how come someone speeds up when there's traffic jam in front. My car and the 2nd car were in stationary position when the incident happened, as we were aware the traffic had stopped in front of us. But this stupid fella, I'm not sure what was in his head. He might be either SMS-ing to his girlfriend, looking for something underhood or just plain day-dreaming. Shit la, damn pissed off you know. Have to take EL just for this, haihh..

Damn sien la. See my poor Kenari also no mood already. Boot door like want to tercabut liddat. Ok la, I'm exxageratting. But still la, it's a pain in the eye OK. Later I post up the picture la. Hmm, I think not me la. Where got I often update my blog nowadays. You guys go to Izma's blog la, there sure got one. Just wait this 1 or 2 days la.

No mood already. See, blogging also use Manglish. See the Viva driver's face also like want to eat cock. Kanasai, go eat shit la. Stupid Viva driver..

Changes

Okay, a nice full update..

Pardon the long holiday from blogging though. Frankly speaking, I've been quite busy the past two months after my marriage. There were lots of kenduris to attend, relatives to visit and so on. Furthermore, life is good too. I now have a person to go to for everything that I do. Person to have a second opinion, to tell something, to complaint about something, even just to lie down and relax. Still, though, marriage is not all about the 'living together' part. There are quite a number of responsibilities that I have to take on as a husband, and I'm learning bit by bit of them. In the past, it was okay for me to just do something and not having a feeling of what other people will say. But for now, I need to put my wife on top of things. Has she eaten, how's her day, is her job okay, is there any of her clothes that are no more suitable, so on. Thankfully she is as understandable, allowing me to get a hold to the knowledge and correcting me as we go along. As for the usual question for newly-weds, "dah ada ke belum?", the answer is we are still trying and leave that to the fate. Actually I don't really like people asking me or my wife that question. I mean, c'mon. If it's there, it's there. We will tell you, there's really no need for you to poke around asking the question over and over again. Heck, even our moms don't ask the question. So please, really appreciate if you guys 'prod' us with the questions only once in a while :)

Okay, enough with life-wise. For daily/weekly updates on my life, you may refer to my wife's blog. There are updates, pictures, comments and so on in her blog and I don't think it's necessary for me to update with the same thing. Don't really like to do redundant things. Oh btw, we went to watch Monsters vs Aliens 3D last week. Damn nice experience, although the 3D specs made us a bit dizzy sometimes. "I may not have a brain, but I got a plan." Damn BOB, haha..

Oh, I managed to organize a paintball session with my colleagues last few weeks. It went well, and it's good to be able to help in lifting up the spirits within them. Things didn't go well in the office lately, with lots of works and meetings and more works (and people-problem *chuckles*). Having the paintball session was the correct thing to do at the correct time. Problem is, now every issue in the office will have to settle by a paintball session haha. Damn people even imagining to bring the paintball marker to the office and shoot anyone who crosses their path LOL. Will have another session on the 27/6 hopefully. Special thanks to Pejai who helped to make this a success. I do owe you a lot, thanks for that.

Ah, before I forget. I'm on a 3-day holiday starting from last Monday until today. Which is why you see my blog is updated on Wednesday morning. Went to JB yesterday and the day before to visit my uncle. As usual, any update regarding this you may redirect to my wife's blog.

A special contribution to my pet fish who died last Friday. The fish, who is only known as 'Puyu', died for no apparent reason in the morning. It saddens me though, as I used to take care of it since it was just a small fish. I do remember only feeding it with the tiny guppy pellet as it was too small to eat the normal fish pellet, feeding it once in the morning and at night. It would rise to the surface and opened its mouth when it saw me holding the pellet container. Washing the aquarium would be quite a task too, because it likes to jump around in the temporary container while waiting for the aquarium to be cleaned. There were even times when it jumped out of the aquarium at night, only to be discovered lying on the floor gasping for oxygen in the morning (wonder how it still live..). Rest in peace Puyu, thanks for looking after me all these while.. (I do really hope you didn't turn into some ikan pekasam or something)

Enough with the update, want to wake my wife up and have some breakfast. Later!

Wish List

I've been literally 'under fire' for not putting up my wish-list LOL. So as to satisfy and ease up the process of buying gifts, here you go. Note that list is not in any particular order.

1. Holiday voucher (there's a reason this is the first one haha)
2. Cooking utensils (taken by Azhar)
3. Knife set
4. Nice glassware for 2 person
5. Container set to put salt, pepper, herbs etc
6. Vacuum cleaner (this is a bit absurd, but heck..)
7. Set of tupperwares
8. PSP/PS3
9. Mitsubishi Lancer GT2.0
10. RM200/night price for an apartment in Langkawi (especially for Pejai LOL)
11. Your presence to the kenduri

I'm getting married on 15/03. The kenduri will be on 28/03 and 4/4, so there's little time for me to prepare things. Luckily all major things have been settled long before, left back those minor things that only take at most 2 days to do. In the process of sending out invitation cards to my friends and colleagues, so I do hope you can make it to the event. At times I do feel nervous and scared of the responsibilities that lie ahead of me. I mean, how am I supposed to manage a family. I'm not that perfect of a person, so to be said. But thankfully the significant other understands this and assures me that all will go well. Pray for us and may things go well as expected.

Note: These are Google Maps link to both kenduri sites. I have also prepared 2 map files that are suitable to be viewed by mobile phone. Links are as follows.

Updates!!

Ok, a lot to update. Firstly, marriage things are almost complete. Left back all those official things like submitting forms etc, but that will be settled this Wednesday hopefully. Next step will be printing out invitation cards and sending them out. Too bad my wedding is scheduled at the same day as ex-KT 9899 10 years reunion, so I won't be able to join my schoolmates in KT. I *might* make a 3G call that day to see how the reunion is and to send my regards to other schoolmates. Damn I love technology haha.

A few weekends back Izma and I went for a picnic at Sungai Congkak. Went there with my younger brother and sister. It was an impromptu plan actually, so we didn't really prepare anything to go there. Just bring our spare clothes, towels, bought some snacks and off we go in the water. My younger brother sure looked frenzied, it's been ages since he went for a picnic like that. We snapped a couple of pictures, and in effort to get a good shot the camera had to be sacrificed with some splash haha. Thank God nothing bad happened to it, else I'd be cursing myself for not being careful.

Stupid adik peeing behind some trees

Jump!!
Our lunch, Sate Kajang Hj Samuri

It was a refreshing trip by the way, most probably because a few weeks earlier work had become a major issue to Izma and I. We found that the picnic do freshen up our mind and spirit, and it was a timely decision to go with the plan after all. We really went all out that day, doing water splash and all like some kids. But I guess this was what made us relieved, by letting our minds free from day-to-day problems. A second trip can be assured in the near future, maybe after our marriage.

On a more serious issue, what a way to welcome the 2009 by inciting Gaza conflict. I'm not gonna comment on this issue, because I'm sure most of you can get your information from local newspapers or television newscast. Actually I'm quite awed with the military technology used by the Israelis (no I do not condone the killing of Palestinians, so stop calling me infidel or traitor or whatnot). Only in the event like this can we see the latest military technologies being rolled out and tested in warfare environment. Things like Apache gunship are things of the past. We've already saw Apache in action in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, maybe a quick peek at Predator on the later. But the use of white phosphorus bomb and cluster bombs are something new. Although these are not latest technology, but we never see it in action due to international convention that prevents these to be used for the sake of humanity. I certainly was amazed at the image of cluster bomb in action, where one big bomb dropped multiple small payloads to a designated area. Sure does save cost and ammunition. But then, yeah, it was never a fair fight over there. Huge difference of military technology, and yet not many things have changed. It's their fight after all, I'm sure the same thing gets repeated in future.

Oh ya, before I forgot. My wedding ceremonies will be on the 28th of March (Izma's side) and 4th of April (my side). People, please come. Especially my four V4E-S1 cronies. I do expect some nice gifts though, am never shame to ask for anything from you guys. Things priced RM50 or above are greatly welcomed, thank you.

I'm currently staying alone at home. Everybody else went back to hometown on this 4-days holiday. I do have some works to be finished so I skipped going back too. This has been a perfect time for me to improve my cooking skills. Made sambal sotong on Saturday for dinner, nasi goreng kicap on Sunday lunch, sambal sardin on Sunday dinner and just now nasi goreng kicap improvised (with added cabbage & spinach). All those are edible as well as got some taste. I still remember my first attempt making nasi goreng, and I do remember I ate it  with full force since it had no taste at all. So I'm giving myself a pat in the back for the improvement and I'm sure to improve more in the future. Thanks to Izma for instructions on the sambal sotong. Oh by the way, I slowly started to get the meaning of secukup rasa etc. No more needing to know exactly how many spoons of salt do I need to pinch in. I guess experiences do come with mistakes, LOL.

This is a video of us, having fun by ourselves in Sungai Congkak..

I Understand Your Feelings..

I truly agree with this. Even more if the idiots are not your peers, but instead your managers.
